But, the season ended prematurely due to injuries in her ACL. This injury also was the reason she had to cancel her 2007 season after just two games. Rapinoe following her recovery from the injury in 2007, was able to help Pilots score a 20-0 record.

Even though she was born in Portland she lived her first 5 or 6 years of her life in a small town called Boring in which her family had a bee farm although her mother was allergic to bees and she was surrounded by farm animals as well as farmland. Her parents separated and moved to Montana, then Seattle where she saw her mother change jobs regularly. The family did not manage the bee farm for long.
